Dharamshala – a hill station lying on the spur of the Dhauladhar Mountain range. Dharamshala town is divided into two parts the Lower Dharamshala consists of Katchari (the Deputy Comissioner Office and the Court), head Post Office and the Kotwali Bazar. Infact Dharamshal is the headquarter of the Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh. The Upper Dharamsala – Mecleod Ganj (Palseat Ganj), Cantt Area – is wooded with oak and conifer trees and snow capped mountains enfold three sides of the town while the valley stretches in front. Gaggal is the nearest airport which is 13 km away. Pathankot, the nearest broad gauge railway station is 85 km away and the toy train station is 17 km at Kangra. It takes about three hours from Pathankot to reach Dharamshala by road and Delhi is about 530 kms via Ambala, Chandigarh, Ropar, Nangal, Una, Chintapurni,Jwalaji/Dehra and takes about 12 hours of journey by road. In winter, the temperature can drop to freezing point when heavy woollens are required. During summer, the climate is mild and light woollens / cottons are recommended.
Bir lies in the southeast of Dharamsala and at a distance of about 50 kms. Bir at an altitude of 1400 m is connected by NH-20, Pathankot- Manali Highway and approximately midway between Baijnath and Joginder Nagar and also on the state highway between Dharamshala to Kulu-Manali.
Geologically, Bir is situated in the Joginder Nagar Valley of Dhauladhar Mountain Range in the Himalayas. Billing at an altitude of 2900 m is 14 km from Bir is the launch pad for hang-gliding, while Bir serves as the landing site. On way to Bir from Dharamshala one can visit the famous temples of Chamunda Devi as well as Lord Shiva Temple at Baijnath and pass through the beautiful Palampur Valley of Himachal Pradesh.
Departure from Delhi in the evening by Deluxe Coach.
Morning upon arrival Dharamshala transfer to hotel/Resort at Mcleod Ganj.
Afternoon visit Bhagsunath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva & Tibetan Temples.
Dinner and overnight at Hotel/Resort.
After breakfast proceed for Bir-Billing by car for the tandem joy ride from Billing to
land at Bir near Tibiten Coloney for about 20-30 minutes.
Evening return back to Dharamshala and on the way visit Baijnath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Chamunda
Devi Temple (0r Kali Mata) who hacked to death Chand and Mund demons, for horrifying the devatas. This temple complex is on the bank of river Baner Khad or the Ban Ganga a local river of the area. Overnight at Hotel/Resort.
Morning depart for Delhi by Deluxe Coach.
Arrive Delhi in the evening.
