Bharmour, formally known as Brahmpura, was the ancient capital of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh, India. Situated at an altitude of 7000 feet in the Budhil valley, forty miles to the south-east of Chamba,  Bharmour is known for its scenic beauty and for its ancient temples. Some of the temples are believed to date from 10th century.

As the whole country around Bharmour is supposed to belong to lord Shiva, it is popularly spoken of as Shiva Bhumi, abode of lord Shiva. It lies between the Pir-Panjal and Dhauladhar range, between Ravi and Chenab valley. The land is blessed with deep beauty of abundant alpine pastures and provides home for nomadic shepherds, known as Gaddi, thus also called Gadderan. The foothills are filled with orchards and terraced farmsteads. The epitome of spirituality lies in this land as it is endow with ancient temples. Bharmour is reached  by road from Pathankot / Dharamshala / Dalhousie / Chamba.  The nearest Airport is the Gagal Airport Kangra (Dharamshala).

MANIMAHESH YATRA : the abode of Shiva!!!!

Manimahesh Yatra started  from SRI KRISHNA JANAMASHTAMI,3RD SEPTEMBER, 2018 and will end on monday – 17th September,2018 i.e. on RADHA ASHTAMI DAY. During this period lakhs of Lord Shiva Bhakatas of all the age bunches from over India  perform Yatra. Manimahesh Yatra is an event of been fit and pride to the enthusiasts. The yatra initiates from the base camp at Bharmour, which is situated at an elevation of 7120 feet, 65 KM from the locale head quarters of Chamba.
At the base camp explorers pay respect at Chaurassi Temple and Bharmani Mata Temple (4 KM from Bharmour) before setting on for the most strenuous 14KM long trek from Harsar (7000 feet) to sacred Dal Lake(13500 feet). Manimahesh Yatra trek is a precarious up move from the initial step at Harsar and is undisputedly, the most troublesome. Guests achieve Harsar which is 13 Km from Bharmour in vehicles. According to crude evaluate around 3-4 lakh explorers visit the Dal amid yatra. The course of trek is Harsar(0 KM)- Dunali(3 KM)- Dhanchho(6 KM)- Sundrassi(9 KM)- Gauri Kund(11 km)- Dal Lake (13 KM).
